Business Gym is Saath Charitable Trust’s initiative aimed at nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of micro-entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools and support needed to grow their businesses with confidence and pride. The program begins by identifying existing and aspiring micro-entrepreneurs in urban areas—currently in Ahmedabad and Jaipur—and orienting them to the Business Gym journey. Once enrolled, entrepreneurs receive consistent mentoring and support each month, covering business planning, access to finance, branding and marketing, digital and technical skills, and streamlined operations. Alongside this, the program also emphasizes building sustainable peer networks and learning communities that enable ongoing knowledge sharing, reskilling, and community ownership of growth pathways.
Realising the need for larger outreach of the program Saath has developed an app which offers training solutions as well as other support digitally. This App helps the users improve their businesses and also supports them through other services offered by Saath to Micro Entrepreneurs including financial linkages to MFIs and entitlement services.
Since its launch, Business Gym has supported over 4,900 micro-entrepreneurs in Ahmedabad and Jaipur. These individuals have experienced meaningful improvements in how they run their businesses—from better financial tracking and operational planning to increased confidence in marketing and expanding their customer base. The program has helped create stronger local economies and more resilient entrepreneurial communities, fostering a spirit of self-reliance and collaboration among informal workers.
Saath aims to expand Business Gym to other urban geographies in India, partnering with organizations that share its vision of inclusive urban entrepreneurship. By scaling the initiative, Saath seeks to amplify the voices, capabilities, and resilience of micro-entrepreneurs, enabling them to thrive in changing economic environments while continuing to serve as vital contributors to their communities.
